Dosage: Blackberry Light– Charlie Mars

This song played through my MacBook speakers as I tidied up my new room in on Neptune St, in Encinitas, CA. As I folded a shirt, and sipped a glass of cheap white wine, these lyrics at first played to me, and then through me. They encapsulated my feelings at the moment, and since I’ve been grooving to the tunes steadily a couple of times a day.

Lyrics:

When you’re young you think you walk on water
You ride around singing walking on the moon
Some find love and take a walk down the aisle
Some find love and let it walk out the room

One minute
I wanna
Pick up and move on
Next minute
I wanna
Pack up and move home
Oh my mind races in the night
I’m always fumbling around in your blackberry light

When you’re young you’re finally on your own
The nights so fast make the days so long
Some wake up they say show me a sign
Some see the night
Some see the light and they let it shine

One minute
I wanna
Pick up and move on
Next minute
I wanna
Pack up and move home
Oh my mind races in the night
I’m always fumbling around in the blackberry light

Lay the seats back
Turn the bass up
Pretend for a minute
That you need my touch

My mind races in the night
Girl you look so pretty with your Parliament light
